Epictitus quoted many thousands of years ago "Men are disturbed not by things, but by the view which they take of them." Another way of looking at it is that it's not what happens to you in life, but the way you view it that determines your quality of life. Let's be honest, life can be incredibly cruel and unfair and we can't change that, but we can change what we do about it.
Our bodies are very clever at telling us that it's time to deal with something. It could be something traumatic from your past that's been buried for years but it could be as simple as you being offered a new job and not knowing whether to take it. You will become aware of a feeling of unease and discomfort which is your body's signal that something needs to be addressed. In typical British fashion, you may decide to "Carry on Regardless" but as the saying goes, "a problem shared is a problem halved". You actually have all the solutions inside your own head - my job is to help you access them and turn your solutions into action.
When it comes to weight, yes its tough to admit, but being fat is actually a choice! The only way out is to choose something different. Eating is a complex behaviour that unlike booze and cigarettes, we cannot live without. If weight loss and maintenance was as simple as eating better and exercising more everybody would be doing it and we wouldn't have an obesity crisis. Changing your lifestyle is hard work, but with the right information and the right support it is totally possible. I know how tough it is and that's why I offer a fresh new approach that focuses on the root cause of your weight gain....the choices you are making.
